A key part of running a successful influencer marketing campaign is having the ability to effectively communicate with influencers. To that end, we have introduced a new feature for creating and using a notification template system to help standardize messages that are sent to influencers, whether in bulk or individually.
Notification templates are created for and edited within each activity and can be applied to notifications sent to influencers at various stages of the activity workflow. Notification templates can be viewed from the activity overview tab.
Available Notification Templates
Upon creating a new activity there will be certain templates added for your convenience. These can be edited to suit the needs of the particular activity but, in general, are meant to be representative of the necessary points of communication required to move influencers through the activity workflow.
NOTE: Notification templates are specific to an activity.
Creating a new Notification template
Clicking the "+" icon on the bottom righthand corner of the notification templates panel will allow you to create a new template for this activity. A template consisted of a title, subject line and message body.
A key component of the template is the ability to use merge tags. A merge tag is a way to add dynamic values to your templates so that a single template can be personalized across a group of influencers. To use merge tags just place your cursor where you would like to represent a dynamic value. Example: If you'd like to add the influencers first name to a greeting, select the appropriate merge tag from the menu in the HTML editor bar and the tag will be placed in the current cursor position.
Using Notification Templates
When creating a new notification you are welcome to write a custom message or, use a previously saved template. Available templates are available via the dropdown menu above the subject line.
This will populate the subject line and body of the message with the copy from the template (see below). If you'd like to customize the message for a particular reason, you can further manipulate the copy before sending. Note: This will not effect the underlying template.
Excluding Past Recipients
When using a template for a bulk notification you may, inadvertently, select individuals who have already received the notification. For example: when sending out a bulk invitation to participate in an activity you may select influencers who have already received the invitation but have yet to respond. To help prevent this from happening you have the option to "Exclude past recipients". This will ensure that anyone who has already been sent a message using this template to be excluded from this mailing. Unchecking this option will send the notification to everyone selected, regardless of whether they have received it previously.
In the future we plan to add many more types of templates and merge tags to increase the value of communications sent from the platform. For example, the base set template set should serve as a good starting point for communications with influencers during the course of an activity.
