A “binding hashtag” is the hashtag that the Platform looks for when determining which content should be automatically pulled into a specific campaign.
We strongly recommend using a unique binding hashtag for each live campaign so that the Platform can easily identify and pull in the correct content to the correct campaign. Your “binding hashtag” can be anything from a creative campaign-theme hashtag to a hashtag that helps identify the product they are promoting. This campaign-specific hashtag has the additional benefit of allowing the audience of your influencers to use the hashtag to click out to see the rest of the campaign-specific content created, ultimately increasing the awareness of your campaign.
While each campaign will only have one binding hashtag, you can always include additional required hashtags or mentions in your Posting Instructions message template.
The steps below outline the process of where to put your unique “binding hashtag” and where to add additional overarching brand hashtags.
Step 1: Choose a unique hashtag to be used as your “Binding Hashtag” in the Influencer Requirements section.
Step 2: Navigate to the “Message Templates” section.
Step 3: Click the pencil icon associated with the message titled “Posting Instructions”.
Step 4: In the “Hashtags and Mentions” bullet, include the binding hashtag as well any additional hashtags you’d like to use (these do not have to be unique and there is no limit to how many you can add!).
Step 5: Click “Save”.
This ensures that influencers will be notified that they must include both the unique binding hashtag AND the hashtag you’ve chosen to use across more than one campaign.
Note: If you would like to change the binding hashtag once your campaign is live, you must pause the campaign first to do so. If the binding hashtag is changed after content has already been pulled in, the content that was pulled in from the previous binding hashtag will remain in the platform. Once updated, new content will be pulled in based on the new binding hashtag that you’ve chosen.
