Twitter: Disclosure Do's & Don'ts
Disclosure Do’s
- Given character limits, recommended disclosure language is #ad, #sponsored or #paid followed by tagging the sponsoring brand.
- Each tweet should have its own disclosure (even if they are part of a series), as they can be consumed independently.
Disclosure Don’ts
- Use ambiguous and unclear language such as, #sp, #collab, #affiliate, or #partner.
- Only include branded hashtags with no #ad, #paid or #sponsored.
- Hide FTC disclosures among other, non-related hashtags at the end of a Tweet.
