Connecting your social accounts enables the platform to track your content and metrics automatically.
Social account connections take place via the account connection module, which is included on all campaign application forms and also in the influencer campaign manager (ICM).
Instagram Account Types
Different Instagram account types connect with Mavrck differently. Figure out which connection type is right for you below.
Instagram Creator Accounts
Mavrck provides a unique connection flow for Instagram Business accounts and Personal accounts. Creator accounts connect with Mavrck as either Business or Personal accounts.
This is due to the technology provided by Instagram. Instagram maintains two different APIs to connect accounts: the Graph API, which supports Business accounts and eligible Creator accounts, and the Basic API, which supports Personal accounts and eligible Creator accounts.
Creator accounts can connect through either the Business option or the Personal option. There are pros and cons to each connection type, outlined below, but the Business option is recommended for most users, as it provides more data and content for you and the brands you work with.
How should I connect my Instagram Creator account with Mavrck?
If you will post Instagram Stories or carousels: Use Business connection.
Personal connections do not provide automatic tracking for Instagram Stories, meaning Stories must be self-reported for campaigns. Carousel posts can be tracked, but only the first frame is available to the brand you are working with to view or export.
If you cannot or will not use a Facebook account: Use Personal connection.
A Facebook Page is required for Business connection. Personal connection only requires an Instagram log-in.
If you post for the same brand on an ongoing basis, but don't log in often: Use Personal connection.
Business connections expire after 90 days, but Personal connections can be refreshed automatically, meaning your in-feed posts can always be tracked without logging in to reconnect.
